The Netscape EditorBefore we continue, I think it might be helpful to go over the basics of the Netscape Editor. If you are familiar with Word 97, then you should be pretty comfortable with Netscape Editor. (If you are using Netscape 4.0 or above, this program is referred to as the Composer. Netscape Editor and Netscape Composer are very similar; if you know one, you know the other.) Accessing the Editor (Composer)The Netscape Editor is part of the Netscape Navigator program. If you haven't already, open Netscape Navigator 3.08 Gold. The quickest and easiest way to access the Netscape Editor is to use the menu:
The Netscape Editor will automatically launch with a completely blank web page, ready for you to start creating. The Editor InterfaceBelow is a short summary of the buttons you are looking at. You are not expected to memorize them now, but you should glance over the list to familiarize yourself with them. Don't be too concerned if you are not familiar with all of the concepts below. We will be going over them in the course of the workshop. I include them here for the sake of completeness so that this page can serve as a handy reference while you work later.
