Adding (or Changing) a Theme

At this point, you should have a blank page open in front of you, ready to have information added to it.

First, we are going to have a bit of fun.  We'll now decide on the "look" of the site.  Here is where FrontPage 2000 themes come in very handy.

Theme: The theme of the web is the graphics set and font settings that give the web a streamlined look automatically.

Use the menu: Format - Theme

A dialog box will appear, very similar to the one shown above.  The big window on the left shows the preview of this theme.

Choose which theme you would like by clicking on their title on the left.
Choose the option "Apply theme to: All Pages"
Vivid colors may not show on all monitors.  Do not use them.
Active graphics will work on the browsers that support them and will have a useable static graphic on browsers that don't, so there is no harm in selecting it.
The background picture is up to you.  I tend to use them.
Click "OK."

It may appear that you page has changed very little (at best a background graphic has been added).  However, now all pages that you add will have this theme.  You will notice in the next part, when we start adding text, that the theme extends into the default settings for font style.
